Prudential plc announced that it cancelled 371,404 ordinary shares on Aug, 25 2026, shrinking its outstanding share base by about 0.015% to 2.497 billion shares.
The cancellation follows on-market repurchases executed on Aug, 21 2026, while an additional 374,172 shares bought back on Aug, 25 2026 and 381,159 shares acquired on Aug, 24 2026 remain to be cancelled.
On Aug, 25 2026, the insurer bought 374,172 shares on the London Stock Exchange at prices between GBP 10.285 and GBP 10.51, for a total consideration of roughly GBP 3.88 million (about S$6.6 million), with all of these shares designated for cancellation.
Since receiving its current buy-back mandate on May, 14 2025, Prudential has repurchased 115.84 million shares, representing 4.45% of the shares outstanding at that time. The company is restricted from issuing new shares until Sep, 24 2026 under the 30-day moratorium that follows each repurchase.
