JOYY Inc. Reports 16.3% Year-on-Year Revenue Growth in Q2, Fueled by Diversified Business Expansion

JOYY Inc. (NASDAQ: JOYY) released its second-quarter 2026 financial results on August 26, Beijing time, showcasing robust growth across its diversified business segments. Total revenue for the quarter reached $590.8 million, marking a 16.3% increase year-over-year and a 6.3% rise quarter-over-quarter, achieving solid gains on both fronts.

The social entertainment business maintained steady growth, generating $422.7 million in revenue, up 7.4% year-over-year and 5.6% sequentially. Meanwhile, the company's second growth engines—the advertising technology arm BIGO Ads and the e-commerce platform SHOPLINE—delivered standout performances. BIGO Ads revenue surged to $133.7 million, a substantial 53.1% increase from the prior year, while SHOPLINE revenue climbed to $34.4 million, accelerating to a 28.6% year-over-year growth rate. As the company's diversified operations continue to expand, the share of non-live-streaming revenue rose further to 31.8%.

On a non-GAAP basis, operating profit and EBITDA for the second quarter stood at $49.1 million and $56.9 million, respectively, reflecting growth of 28.2% and 18.1% year-over-year, and 29.4% and 24.4% quarter-over-quarter. Operating cash flow for the quarter reached $64.9 million, and as of June 30, the company held net cash of $3.06 billion.

In terms of shareholder returns, JOYY Inc. has been actively executing its share buyback and dividend program, updated in May under a three-year shareholder return plan. From January 1 to August 21, 2026, the company repurchased $216.4 million in shares and distributed $142.4 million in dividends, bringing the total shareholder returns to $358.8 million.
