China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd. (SSE: 601601, HKEX: 02601) disclosed on August 27 that for the first half of 2026, the group's total operating revenue reached RMB 212.136 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 5.8%. Within this figure, insurance service income amounted to RMB 143.296 billion, up 1.0% from the prior-year period.
The group's net profit stood at RMB 30.775 billion, marking a 10.4% year-on-year growth, while operating profit climbed 6.2% to RMB 21.149 billion. Embedded value totaled RMB 636.938 billion, up 3.8% from the end of last year, with effective business value rising 4.2% to RMB 250.765 billion during the same comparison window. Net assets grew 5.6% to RMB 319.196 billion.
In the life insurance segment, new business value expanded 12.7% year-on-year to RMB 10.758 billion, with the new business value margin improving by 2.5 percentage points to 17.5%. The property and casualty insurance business posted a combined ratio of 95.1%, down 1.3 percentage points from the corresponding period last year.
However, the group's comprehensive investment yield on investment assets came in at 1.8% for the first half, a decrease of 0.6 percentage points compared with the same timeframe in the previous year.
