HUTCHTEL HK 1H 2026: Revenue Rises 32% to HK$2.85 Billion, Net Profit Surges 83% on Macau Disposal

HUTCHTEL HK (Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings) released its 2026 interim results. Total revenue from Hong Kong operations reached HK$2.85 billion, up 32% year-on-year, driven by a HK$980 million hardware contribution and a 25% jump in roaming service income.

Net customer service revenue grew 6% to HK$1.87 billion, while net customer service margin slipped to 74% from 83% as lower-margin streams expanded. EBITDA from Hong Kong operations held steady at HK$763 million; EBIT edged up 6% to HK$18 million as depreciation and amortisation eased.

Group profit attributable to shareholders climbed 83% to HK$11 million, reflecting the removal of losses after the January 2026 sale of the Macau mobile business. Earnings per share improved to 0.23 HK cents.

Operating metrics showed the customer base at 3.23 million with 5G penetration at 64% (1H 2025: 57%). Monthly postpaid churn remained low at 0.9%, though postpaid net ARPU declined 2% to HK$173.

Cash and bank balances were HK$3.75 billion at end-June; capital expenditure was controlled at HK$169 million, 9% of net customer service revenue.

The Board declared an unchanged interim dividend of 2.28 HK cents per share, payable on 16 September 2026 to shareholders on record 7 September 2026.

Management signalled continued emphasis on cost discipline, AI-driven service expansion and diversification to support profitability in a cautiously improving Hong Kong economy.
