China Life Insurance's H1 Profit Soars; Revenue Jumps

China Life Insurance (HKG:2628, SHA:601628) reported an attributable net profit of 134.5 billion for the first half, up 229% from 40.9 billion a year earlier.

Earnings per share stood at 4.76 yuan, compared with 1.45 yuan in the year-ago period, according to a Thursday filing with the Hong Kong Exchange.

Revenue increased 82% year over year to 434.6 billion for the six months ended June 30 from 239.5 billion.

The insurer proposed an interim dividend of 0.358 yuan per share, subject to shareholder approval at the EGM on Sept. 24, with payment expected on Nov. 18, if approved.
