On October 13, President Donald J. Trump posted on X that the Houthis are acting at Iran’s behest, striking Saudi Arabia and trying to raise oil prices.

Trump wrote that the group had been quiet and “emerged again,” attributing their actions to Iran. “They’ve been silent for a long time, but now they’ve emerged again, probably at the behest of Iran, which is a Failing Nation, with No Navy, No Airforce, the World’s Worst Economy, and 301% Inflation, in a very nasty way, hitting Saudi Arabia, and purposefully trying to drive up Oil Prices, probably prior to the U.S. Elections — NOT NICE.”

He referenced past U.S. action, saying, “we bombed the HELL out of them and, at their request, stopped,” and asserted that the Houthis were seeking to raise oil prices ahead of the U.S. elections. Trump added, “NOT NICE.”

The post also included a message on the elections: “Somebody should explain to them that I’m not running in the Elections, I’ve already won, IN A MASSIVE LANDSLIDE, but I’ll be there after the Elections, and I will never forget!” The message ended with the sign-off, “President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
